Denia, really couldn’t be better located. Exactly halfway between Valencia and Alicante, apart from both being gorgeous cities in their own right, they’re also conveniently two of the busiest airports with numerous flights a day so it’s never too difficult to get back to the UK. It’s also great for my obsession with Ibiza, we can literally walk out of our apartment and on to the ferry for a 2 hour boat ride to my favourite island.

Having lived in one of the most scenic and beautiful towns in the UK, on the border of the North Yorkshire dales, it was hard to find somewhere that could top it. But as soon as we saw Denia, we fell in love with it. The marina is full of beautiful yachts, most recently being home to the Lady Moura, at one point the 9th largest privately owned yacht in the world. Then you can simply turn around and you have the beauty of the Montgo, a colossal mountain that watches down on us. Waking up every morning to the sunrise and then seeing the sunset every evening really does make us grateful to live in such a magical place.

The town centre is a maze of cobbled streets with masses of retsaurants and bars, which is really only a very small proportion as the sea front stretches for miles with even more amazing restaurants and bars, having won countless gastronomy awards over the years, we really are spoilt for choice. Some of our favourites are, luckily, some of the closest to our apartment. We have Basta and Republic for a more up market cuisine, with Mala Vita giving a more relaxed setting overlooking the beautiful mediterranean, not to mention La Zensa which in summer offers a great beach club vibe with great music, cocktails and its own swimming pool. We also found a little gem of an Indian Restaurant in Buddha Castle just round the corner.

We couldn’t wish to have found a better location. We’ve added some links below in case any of you want to have a look for yourself.

There also seems to be a ‘fiesta’ on every other week as they do love a party round here. I’m definitely suited to the mediterranean lifestyle of sun, sea and healthy living.

We’ve had far too many adventures on our very own doorstep to name them all, so we’ve decided to let you take a look for yourselves with our gallery below…
