Well what can I say about Ibiza that hasn’t been said before. I’ll start at the beginning of my Ibiza obsession. Aged 18 I went to the island and accidently, on purpose, forgot my flight home so decided to work the season and there began my hedonistic sofa-surfing summer, working at Koppa’s on the west end.

And so my love affair with the island began. Unfortunately the arrival of three children put our relationship on hold for a while, but when she came back she didn’t disappoint. So fast forward 25 years and I’m back, Ibiza’s back, raving’s back and yes, Koppa’s is still there! We live in Denia now which is close enough – 2 hour boat trip – but far away enough away to be able to hold my life together, on a clear day I can even see her from my balcony, oh the temptation! ‘Boat for Sam please….’

I won’t ramble on about our numerous trips to Ibiza, I’ll collate – what I can remember.. – from last year’s kids-free trips.

In May we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to work at the International Music Summit (IMS) for Ibiza Live TV. We listened to some inspiring talks by lots of music industry bods, with the most memorable being that of Tim Bergen, aka Avicii’s dad, talking about the pressures of the ‘social’ side of being an international superstar. It was followed by more work helping set up live feed lines for the end of summit party at Dalt Vila, and what a night that was, sober raving is the way forward, best set of the evening, husband and wife DJ team Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg.

On to September and our first wedding anniversary, Pikes here we come.. Anybody who’s been to Pikes knows it needs no introduction. Every visit is different, every night is different, it’s a standalone special place. My only other comparison would be Glastonbury in the 80’s and 90’s – on a much smaller scale of course – before it got so commercial. But in terms of atmosphere and people it really has no rival. My best description wouldn’t do it justice so I’ll let you see some of the pictures and the rest will leave up to your imagination… And watch this space, we will be sharing more Pikes adventures in the future.

And our final Ibiza trip, for 2019 at least, was after a busy week working in London on two corporate events for some of our favourite clients. We got a phone call from one of our business contacts on the island, and before we know it we’re on a plane for one night only, the Pacha closing party with my favourite DJ Erick Morillo! I spent most of the night at the front shouting ‘Yes Erick!’ He even leant over at the end of his set to high five me – poor guy most probably just thought “someone get this crazy out of my face”! Dave co-wrote a review of the night which you can see on this link.
